Hello all!
It has been a very long time since I have posted something new. I am very sorry!
How many of you have moved to a new city? How many of you have moved to a new city entirely alone? That’s what I did when I moved here to Ottawa!
It has been very hard, but I am doing my best to be very upbeat and enjoy every day. It has taken some getting used to, living entirely alone. I never moved away from home to go to university because it was just down the street from mom’s house, so I was saving money. Even though I knew that I would move away (and was planning to leave soon), I just never thought I would be so far away!
My plan growing up was to live in Toronto. Ever since high school I have loved Toronto sooo much. I have so many memories of going there on weekends, and imagining what my life would be like living there. I had picked out areas that I wanted to live in and everything! Then out of the blue I got a phone call and now here I am.

So Ottawa isn’t so bad. It’s a bigger city than my hometown which is one thing that I always knew was a must have in my life. If I had to move far away to some little town in the country… well now I would be having problems haha.
Ottawa is also interesting because of it’s history. There are many well preserved old buildings which are nice to look at. They are so detailed and I like when not every building looks the same. There are also big parks and the rivers so there is natural stuff too. I haven’t had much time to go out sightseeing, but it all looks good so far. I can’t wait for the weather to warm up more and stop raining because I really want to bike around.
Speaking of weather, I think I got my first taste of what it will be like here in the warm seasons. I have always heard that it gets very hot and humid here in the summer, but I was like “Pfftttt…. I come from the South so it can’t be that bad” **and by south I mean… as south as Canada gets haha**. Well… today it was maybe around 17 degrees and BOY it was so humid! I was walking home from the bus and I kept thinking to myself that I could feel that the air was cool but I still felt so hot and sticky. Trust me, it’s a weird feeling.
If it is that humid in April… I’m in for a lot of trouble.

So what have I been doing here in Ottawa?
Well, I have been doing lots of exploring the shopping malls. Unfortunately, I haven’t bought very much for myself. Most of my money so far has gone to buying furniture and decorating my apartment. I moved here on very short notice… so I literally had no furniture. I was sleeping on an air mattress, using wooden crates for tables and sitting on the top of a tiny storage cube for a chair. My back was in so much pain after a couple of days that I dreaded going home because I knew it was so uncomfortable there.
But now I have furniture and I am slowly turning my apartment into… a BEACH HOUSE ✰
One perk of starting without any furniture is that you can do whatever you want, right? I would show you pictures, but it isn’t quite ready yet haha. Sorry but you will have to wait! It won’t be long though I promise. Although it will take me months to fully complete it I will show you before then. I still have many boxes and stuff laying around that need to be cleaned up and hopefully I will get my curtains hung and that will really give you a good idea of the room I have planned.

I know, it’s been a lot of text without any pictures right? What a boring blog!

Taadaaaan!
Meet Kuma, my Dwarf Russian hammie. I don’t know why I named him Kuma, but it’s the first thing I thought of when I saw him. I think it’s because of his colour. Kuma means bear in Japanese, so I call him my little bear. He even knows his own name and will come if I call it!
I’ll save more about Kuma for later. He deserves his own post because he is sooooo cute!

That’s all for now! I have to get ready for work tomorrow so I will end this post where it is. Hope everybody had a good weekend and has a good work week. :)
